            In Youngs’ article on Tolkien, there is a section in which she brings up the story about the Dwarves. Creature that are thought to be as dark creatures because they woke up before the elves who are the Children of Ilúvatar . The dwarves were created by Mahal, also known as Aulë   the Smith. Aulë created the Seven Fathers of the Dwarves all in which came from one unknown mountain somewhere in the darkness of Middle-Earth. This however didn’t help Aulë because he didn’t have the right to give the dwarves independence of life to them or any other creation.   Ilúvatar found out and quickly expressed his disapproval to Aulë about the dwarves, in this conformant Aulë   admitted to having the desire of wanting to create more living things. Aredhel and Eol: Whiteness vs. Darkness

Her brother Turgon reluctantly lets her leave under certain conditions. However, Aredhel disobeys her brother's orders and goes where she wants. Fortunately, her travels don’t get her into any danger in the beginning. However, as one might expect the main character gets into trouble on her journey. Eol sees her and longs for her to be his possession. He casts a spell and she wanders into his neck of the woods where there is no sunlight. The Elves of D&D

In Dungeons and Dragons, there are 3 main types of elves. All three are described as having an "...unearthly grace and fine features..."  and “…flexible in the face of danger.” The three main races are the High Elf, Wood Elf, and Dark Elf/Drow. The first elf listed in the player handbook is the  High Elf, which is split into two categories, friendly and non-friendly. Those of the former include the “…grey elves and valley elves of Greyhawk, the Silvanesti of Dragonlance, and the sun elves of the forgotten realms.” They are “…haughty and reclusive, believing themselves to be superior to non-elves and even other elves.” The latter include the “…high elves of Greyhawk, the Qualinesti of Dragonlance, and the moon elves of the Forgotten Realms.” There’s also included the sun elves of Faerun.
